Dafiah Sageer is a Speech and Language Therapist with a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from University of Mysore, India. After her post-graduation she worked with children and adults with different communication and/or swallowing disorders. She has practiced assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders in out-patient and in-patient care, rehabilitation programs and ICU.
Dafiah Sageer has worked with individuals having neurogenic and non-neurogenic communication disorders including aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Cerebral Palsy, stuttering, voice disorders etc. She is also experienced in the communication and swallowing evaluation and intervention of neurogenic disorders like Parkinson’s disease, Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis, Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, etc. She has demonstrated her abilities in carrying out assessments and management using different Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) strategies and techniques. She is enthusiastic in spreading the awareness about advantages of AAC and advocates its use when necessary. Dafiah strives in helping individuals with feeding and swallowing disorders to achieve an improved quality of life by incorporating tailor-made dysphagia therapy plans.
Dafiah Sageer strongly believes in using her knowledge in the field of speech language pathology, to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with impairments in communication and swallowing. She is enthusiastic in carrying out clinical practice and research hand in hand and has participated in several scientific poster presentations and have publications in international journals.
