Dafiah Sageer is a Speech and Language Therapist with a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Mysore, India. Dafiah Sageer is a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist with a Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Mysore, India. Following her postgraduate study, Dafiah delved into the realm of speech therapy, treating both children and adults with diverse communication and swallowing disorders. Her comprehensive practice encompasses evaluating and managing communication and swallowing disorders within various settings, including outpatient and inpatient care, rehabilitation programs, and ICU.

Included amongst the numerous individuals she has served are those with neurogenic and non-neurogenic communication disorders such as aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Cerebral Palsy, stuttering, and voice disorders. Her clinical experience also extends to the assessment and intervention of neurogenic disorders, like Parkinson’s Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Stroke, and Traumatic Brain Injury, explicitly evaluating communication and swallowing capabilities.

Dafiah’s expertise lies in conducting assessments and managing potential avenues for improvement using various Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) strategies and techniques. She is passionate about promoting awareness regarding the benefits of AAC and actively endorses its use when required. As part of her mission to improve her patient’s quality of life, Dafiah tailors dysphagia therapy plans according to individual needs, specifically for those with feeding and swallowing disorders.

Possessing in-depth knowledge in speech-language pathology, Dafiah is committed to positively impacting the lives of those with communication and swallowing impairments. Her enthusiasm extends to integrating clinical practice with research, leading her to participate in numerous scientific poster presentations and contribute to various international journal publications.

Dafiah’s past professional roles include working as a Speech Therapist at the Neuro Spinal Hospital in Dubai, UAE, and serving as a Speech-Language Pathologist at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing in Mysore, India.
