NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
A neuropsychological assessment is a formal, comprehensive testing of an individual’s cognitive abilities.
It may involve an evaluation of:
- General Intellectual Ability
- Attention And Concentration
- Memory
- Language
- Processing Speed
- Higher Level Executive Functioning (e.g., problem solving, reasoning)
- Adaptive functioning
- Mood and Personality
A neuropsychological assessment provides a better understanding of a person’s cognitive strengths and difficulties. It can provide an in-depth understanding to further help your therapist/clinicians with clarifying diagnosis and prognosis, establishing effective treatment plan and /or rehabilitations recommendations.
The assessment can also provide better understanding of one’s own cognitive abilities, intellectual performance struggles and true cognitive potential.

WHAT WILL IT INVOLVE?
A neuropsychological assessment comprises of assessment intake interview, test administration, test scoring and interpretation, report preparation and a feedback session to discuss the results.


- The psychologist will talk to you to understand the struggles and difficulties that you may be experiencing with your cognitive functioning. Then the psychologist will choose the tests suitable to be administered.
- Test will be administered individually and will be presented with a number of questions and tasks, with some being easy while some being more difficult. Most importantly is for you to do your best to your ability. You may also be asked to fill in questionnaires about your mood, functioning and psychological symptoms.
- The findings of the tests are then scored and interpreted.
- A comprehensive report will then be prepared including recommendations and possible future referrals.
- Finally, you will be asked to come in for a feedback session to further discuss the assessment results and future recommendations.
